Trees & Shrubs

Picking and planning your plant material

In our harsh environment it is hard to know what grows best in our dynamic climate. There are many things to consider when planning out your planting plan for your yard.  For example you must keep in mind of such things as: the prevailing winds, drainage, soil conditions, exposure, season’s foliage and blooming periods. You must ask yourself questions such as: how high does it grow? How wide does it grow? Do you require more privacy? Just to name a few.

If you are not knowledgeable with our area, or require assistance choosing your plant material our experience staff can help you along the way. Weather you call for a design and layout of planting, more information on care and maintenance, or would just like a consultation to have a few ideas where to start.

Installing your plant material

A properly planted tree, shrub, or perennial will be more tolerant of adverse conditions and require much less management than one planted incorrectly.  Planting technique impacts water quality as it minimizes water, fertilizer and pesticide use. When making decisions on planting techniques, one should consider how the plant was grown in the nursery, the plant's drainage requirements, the soil type and drainage characteristics, and the availability of irrigation water. The plant should be specifically appropriate to the site, or the site should be amended to specifically fit the plant.

All planting is carefully planned, outlined, designed and constructed by our own certified Landscape Designers and Construction Crew team members
